Q. How will Hypnosis and the Shift Weight Mastery Process help me END MY STRUGGLE?
A. We take the struggle with our weight so personally and yet the funny thing is no matter how hard we try and change—one of the primary drives of the human mind is for things to stay exactly as they are (homeostasis)!!!
You see, diets only rely upon willpower to work. Willpower is engaged in our conscious mind only. Our conscious mind unfortunately is home for only 12 percent of our brain's power. However, the unconscious mind is powered by 88 percent of our mind and is the home for our habits, beliefs and behavior.
So basically when our conscious mind’s WILLPOWER-- (which is 12 percent of our mind’s power) is in conflict with…our unconscious mind’s HABITS/BELIEFS/THINGS STAYING THE SAME (about 88 percent of our mind’s power)…
…guess who is going to win again and again and again?
That’s right—our old habits and beliefs! Our unconscious mind hates change and struggles to keep you the same—no matter how much we want change consciously. It is hard for a diet to make a lasting change in the unconscious mind because a diet is an external structure that we consciously exert upon our willpower.
That’s why we struggle—not because we are weak minded, or lazy or lack willpower. It’s just that no matter how hard we try—we always feel that push/pull—that 88 percent part of us that wants to eat donuts or stay on the couch instead of exercising wants things to stay the same—and so we revert back to our old ways—it’s a painful, familiar cycle.
As a result of the lack of success in this area, new beliefs are created that sink into the unconscious. I call these negative behaviors, habits and beliefs—“Fat Thinking”.
